I just chatted with Walt Ekard, the county’s chief administrative officer. He said that everything went over great with the new voting system today.
“Glitches, we expected them,” he said of reports of voter problems (scroll down below for some of these reports). “But it was less than expected.”
Ekard said the problems were not in the machines, but in the trained volunteers trying to operate them. He said the county had to train 7,000 volunteers. And, considering there were 10,000 machines in 2,700 polling stations, “from what I know, things went well,” Ekard said.
He added: “The media’s wrong.”
