Mayor Jerry Sanders is set today to announce the support of three Democrats who formerly served in public office, former state Sen. Dede Alpert, former City Councilwoman and state Sen. Lucy Killea and former Congresswoman Lynn Schenk.
The mayor’s campaign says the endorsements display the bi-partisan coalition he’s forged. Sanders’ main opponent, fellow Republican Steve Francis, has aggressively courted left-leaning groups such as environmentalists and labor.
