Over at San Diego Magazine, Valerie Scher (who’s written a couple of pieces for us) highlights San Diego Symphony’s 100th anniversary this year and features a 29-year-old triathlete violinist newly joining the orchestra.

I’ve been doing some “by the numbers” posts and so I was especially interested in this section:

80 full-time orchestra musicians

2,231 Seats in Copley Symphony Hall

126 Concerts in the 2010-’11 centennial season, including the Jacobs Masterworks, Winter Pops, Summer Pops and other perform¬ances

$18 million in the projected budget for the season
